Great new direct plug into guitar mini-amp - new generation January 13, 2010 El Rey (L.A, CA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I just bought and received this new generation mini amp yesterday, and I am completely pleased with this plug direct to your electric guitar amp without cord. It's my second ampuplugnplay mini amp. The second amp I still have that I bought about three years ago and still works like when I bought it. This model has better features clean mode for rhythm and clean playing and the overdrive mode for blues, metal and rock guitar. The switch and 1/4 plug seems pretty sturdy built but common sense tells you make sure you don't bump into things with it on your guitar. I like the headphone input switch in case someone is sleeping your playing is private to your ears. But the speaker on is still ok to play without neighbors knocking on your door to turn it down especially if you live in an apartment - it's ideal amp to have, meaning, it's loud enough for you and the people you are playing to in a smaller environment. It's convenient because you don't need to connect to a regular amp. The mini amp is there by pluging to your amp right away even outdoors like in a park. The main thing is I like the sound from this amp it is no Fender Twin or Marshal but it's sure nice to have and I like the features of it, too.
I have been playing off and on since the '70s and and bought many effect pedals from early on not to mention guitars and amps but having this little amp is one of my best guitar accessory purchases I have made.
The MP3 I will have to wait I understand you play along with the recorded music which is great, but I don't have access to a MP3 right now sounds like another good feature to have.
great little amp February 22, 2010 Kevin Miguel (Hawaii, USA) This is a great little amp. When I want to practice guitar with some effects pedals, I no longer have to sit in my room next to the big amp on the floor. I can setup my effects boxes and pedals outside on the patio, plug this little amp in the end of my effects, and play. Headphone jack is great, too. I can play at night now.
A must-have for anyone who has an electric guitar or portable effects.
A Must Have March 28, 2010 Nick Tropiano (Havertown, PA United States) Simple idea, great idea... Why didn't anyone think of this before? Probably because the known players making amps want you to buy a pricey practice amp along with your gig amp instead of a perfectly fine (better, actually, for practicing) practice amp that plugs into your guitar for less than 30 bucks. Sounds fine, gets about as loud as an acoustic. Some have kvetched about the battery life but I've had mine about a week, have used it every day, and the battery is still going strong. Get some 9v rechargeables, have'em fully charged. It's really a non-issue. Has a head phone jack, a clean/overdrive switch, and a jack to plug your MP3 player into to play along with songs you're learning. It's reasonably well-made and light. C'mon - for less than $30? What do you want, people? It's great being able to grab your Strat (or whatever) and play it where ever like your acoustic. Have an electric guitar? This is a must have. (Anyone want to buy a used practice amp?)
Great Buy! April 4, 2010 Jessica L. Boykin I am a pretty new guitar player. I like to take my guitar anywhere I go, if I can. This product makes that so easy. No, I am not going to be frontlining any gigs with it, but it makes it so easy to practice on the go. Absolutely love it! Would buy again in a heartbeat!
Ok for the price May 17, 2010 Steele (Tampa Bay, FL USA) This is a good amp for beginners. For the price the sound is ok but not clean, my son says. It does, however, enable him to practice without a bulky amp.
