5 out of 5 stars Perfect tool for jamming and creating new songs   March 28, 2009

I just want to mention that the other reviewer got something wrong. He mentioned that when you find a drum beat you like and accidently go forward to another beat that you CAN'T go back to the previous one..He's wrong you CAN go back. You have to select the little musical note and press the "tap tempo" button. But anyway..About my review..

To me this pedal is near perfect. And I absolutley love it. I feel like i cant play with out this now...

The features : There are a lot of drums beats to choose from and they can easily be changed into a different tempo if they are not as fast or as slow as you would like them to be. There is also 11 spaces to record your songs/phrases to. and 16 minutes of recording which is more than enough for me but if it had more time i'd be happier.

If you want to record clean sounds with the pedal then thats ok. But if you want to use distorted guitar sounds you need a distortion pedal to go before the pedal or else the drums will distort. So if you plan on buying this pedal to record rock songs you might want to invest in a distortion pedal.

This pedal is the closest thing i have to having someone else to play with. It's also a great tool for learning songs that have more than one guitar. You just gotta record each guitar but that doesnt matter because its a whole lot of fun anyway.

The first couple of minutes with this pedal might seem confusing and maybe frustrating for others. But after about 20 minutes or so you really start to get the hang of it and what it can do. The only problem i've had with this pedal is that right from the start the AUX input didnt work but it's forgivable this time because a lot of my amps and stuff already have AUX inputs. I love this pedal and so will you.. I rarely ever play with out it now. And for $150 its worth it..unless you want to buy it on musiciansfriend for 189. go for it.

I also reccomend an adapter for it like with any pedal these suck out the batteries power like nothing.

5 out of 5 stars I Love It!!!   September 23, 2009

This effects unit offers a lot of great features for the price. The only real problem is learning how to use it. It is a bit tricky and requires a lot of experimentation and tinkering with.

My main suggestion regarding this is not to lose the manual. You would be lost without it. One nuisance is navigating through the built in drum beats. But, since the unit is just a small pedal, they were forced to give some buttons multiple functions and is quite understandable and forgivable.

If you are looking for a unit in this price range, this is the one to buy!

I split the price of this pedal about 5 years ago with my roommate, and loved it then. He decided he wouldn't use it that often since he played drums mostly, so he wanted his half of the money back. I couldn't afford it (in college at the time) and we had to return it. I spent the next 4 years wishing I had it back, and finally bought it again about 9 months ago. I love it even more now and would buy another one if this one broke. I doubt I will ever have to replace it though; I have stomped/slammed/beat it up pretty good and it keeps jammin along. Great buy, great for practicing and learning how to keep in rhythm and play with others, even if the "other" is yourself. Takes about 5 minutes to figure out the basics and get your first jam down, then maybe another two weeks to master it, but you'll enjoy it the whole time.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent looper, becomes a must have on your pedal board.   May 8, 2010

First I would like to say READ THE MANUAL. Or at least reference it when you first buy this until your familiar with it. Not hard to use whatsoever. You can easily make epic multi-layered loops, or just turn on a drum loop, loop 3 chords and solo all day. The loop station is essential for me to create music now.

3 out of 5 stars Good value but could be better!   December 27, 2008

This unit is alright, but I wish I could cough up the money to buy their higher end loop models. This pedal does what is supposed to, but it is a nightmare to navigate, everything being so small and some features are missing. For example, it has I believe 33 built in drum rhythms "mostly rock", say you find one you like but accidentally switch over to the next one, which happens often with me, then you have to press the pedal 32 more times to scroll to the one you like, there's no "go back" button feature. It is a little tricky to get everything to work as smooth as they say, the manual sucks, you won't learn much from it, you'll have to use intuition and trial and error. Setting the desired tempo for the desired beat is some kind of an art which I haven't quite mastered yet by pressing on the pedal or one of the buttons, it takes time to do it. Sometimes the setting tempo feature kind of freezes and it just doesn't change so you have to unplug it and start all over again. The thing is that since it is a small stomp box there's no LCD screen that tells you where you are, so you have to memorize your built in beats, etc. Overall is tricky to work but it does what is supposed to and it replays your loops with great quality and no noise.
