| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Since 1987, trends have come and gone. But the fast and versatile Soundgear basses continue to lay down the groove in every style imaginable in every venue possible. Now in 2008, Ibanez offers a vast array of different Soundgear models including neck-thru-body, fretless and left-handed. For 2008, all SR300 models have been upgraded with 3-band Style Sweeper EQs. The 2008 Soundgear narrow neck is perfect for 5- and 6-strings so extended range travel is as physically comfortable as it is musically exhilarating. Now, everyone who has ever desired a premier bass can afford an SR with pro features. Viva La Bass! Viva Ibanez!
Thinner necks with thinner nuts than traditional basses. Lightweight, balanced, comfort-contoured bodies. New versatile EXF angled pickups have equal spacing between pickup to string for balanced output levels. GSR models with high output pickups offer famous Soundgear pro comfort and playability at "entry-level" prices.

| Customer Reviews: I just don't get it..... January 26, 2010 Paul Sabre (Midwest) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I simply cannot figure out how Ibanez puts out a bass of this quality for such a low price.
A little fiddling right out of the box got the action low and smooth. The shape of the neck makes playing effortless. The 3 band onboard eq dials in almost any sound you need without having to go back and fiddle with the amp. The Roadster Orange finish is so much better in person than in the photos, the active pickups sound wonderful, and, a boon to all us gigging musicians, it's light.
I started playing bass in High School. I'm 51 now, and have owned almost every type of bass at one point or another. P Bass, couple of Jazz Basses, Yamahas, Peaveys, A Gibson, couple other Ibanez's, and this is the one I'm sticking with.
For a decade the Jazz Bass was my main stage axe, and I used to carry a phony Hofner as a backup. I'd usually pick it up somewhere in the second set to give my shoulder a break. I am seriously considering buying another one of these for my backup and leaving everything else at home.
For us working class players who simply can't afford a Ric 4003 or the Alembic of their dreams, this bass will fill the bill. At this price, you simply can't go wrong.
